The Daughter He Never Knew

[Hayley Rhodes]

Sydney Squire sat at her desk with a smile on her face. She gave a small sigh of relief as she printed the forms she would need for her next meeting.

Sydney only liked to keep one case at any given time. She was known to get close to the children of which she was the social worker for.

At this particular time she was working the case of a four year old girl named Hayley. Hayley had been a part of Sydney’s life for approximately eight months. Over this period of time Sydney had been searching for Hayley’s biological father.

Sydney had searched long and hard for any lead on who Hayley’s father might be when she received a lead that linked Hayley’s mother to a second generation WWE Superstar by the name of Cody Rhodes.

Sydney had called Cody earlier in the week to arrange for them to meet at her office so she could see if this lead was what she had been waiting for.

She smiled as she sat back and waited for Cody to arrive.

Cody stepped out of his silver 2009 model car, with black shades covering his eyes from this sunny day.

He placed his hands in the pockets of his crisp blue jeans, as he walked in to the building.

"Why am I here?" he wondered to himself.

Sydney smiled as she heard footsteps approaching her office.

[Cody Rhodes]

cody stopped at the door and knocked.

"Well, here goes nothing" he said.

"Come in." Sydney called.

[Cody Rhodes]

Cody opened the door and wlaked in.

"Someone wanted to see me?"

[Hayley Rhodes]

"That would be me." Sydney said.

"Please come sit down."

[Cody Rhodes]

"Is this going to take long? I have a autograph signing in like 15 minutes, s can we make it quick" he said.

[Hayley Rhodes]

"Just answer a few questions for me." Sydney said.

'Do you recognize this woman?" Sydney asked, sliding a picture of Hayley's mother in Cody's direction.

[Cody Rhodes]

Cody nodded.

"Unfortuantely yes I do" he answered.

[Hayley Rhodes]

"Can you tell me how?" Sydney asked.

[Cody Rhodes]

"sure... okay... this is a complete invasion of privacy but alright......whatever" Cody told.

"She's an ex" he stated coldly.

[Hayley Rhodes]

Sydney smiled a little.

"Follow me Mr. Rhodes." Sydney spoke as she stood up and carried a bag to the room where Hayley was.

[Cody Rhodes]

"Okay...." he told, following the woman

Sydney smiled as she approached the room.

Cody followed her, "Are we there yet"

[Hayley Rhodes]

"Yes Mr. Rhodes, come on in." Sydney spoke as she entered the room.

"Okay... but you never answered my question why I am here" he told

[Hayley Rhodes]

"This is why." Sydney spoke, geusturing to the child in the wheelchair coloring at a table.

[Cody Rhodes]

Cody looked at the little girl coloring, "you want me to color?" he asked, "I think I'm a little to old for that"

[Hayley Rhodes]

"Mr Rhodes, there is a possibility that child is your daughter." Sydney said.

[Maryse]

Cody stared at her blankly, "Excuse me? "

[Hayley Rhodes]

"You heard me."

[Cody Rhodes]

"No, see I don't think I did" he said, "I believe you used the word daughter and me in the same sentence..... that's not possible" he said, "I don't have a daughter."

[Hayley Rhodes]

"You just might." Sydney spoke.
