"It's over, ring the bell!" Referee Chad Patten, who had been assigned to officiate the contest, called for the bell over the deafening roar of the bell.

"Here is the winner, and the NEW WWE Champion, BA-TISTA!" Lilian Garcia announced.

Batista rose to his feet only to be presented with his newly won title belt.

Climbing the nearest turnbuckle, Dave held the title up high to celebrate with the crowd.
