Jimmy Zodiak vs Cody Rhodes - IC Championship Match

The lights go out... then all of a sudden some unknown music hits (Fozzy - Crucify Yourself)
as the lights sweep back on, flashing in a rapid blue and white manner.
Out comes a huge masked man, in black pleathers and no top.
He punches the floor a few times and comes back up with his arms out to the side; shaking and screaming and the pyro goes off. The crowd are staring, not knowing who this person was, all of a sudden...

"This match is scheduled for one fall, and is for the Intercontinental Championship... Introducing first the challenger, weighing 326lbs from Leamington Spa, England... JIMMYYY ZOOODIIIAKK!!" announced Lillian.

The crowd gave some mixed reactions to him as he made his way down the ramp. Jimmy jumped on to the apron an got into the ring raising his arms. He starts to stretch his arms and test the ropes... then...

"Yeah I'm priceless" The sound of Priceless echoed through the arena as The Prince of Pro Wrestling, Cody Rhodes strutted his way out from backstage.

Jimmy just stared... Tunnel vision on Cody...

Cody smirked, slowly walking down the ring with his own swagger.

He laughed as he was booed, still slowly making his way down the ramp.

He wore his signature black trunks with his initials in white, his one elbow pad securely one.

He climbed the steps, walking on the apron, wiping his feet before he got in.

"And his opponent, from Marietta, Georgia, weighing in at 219lbs, Cody Rhodes" Lilian announced, as Cody raised one hand in the air as the other rested on the top rope.

Jimmy shook his head and went toward Cody in an aggressive stride, but the ref jumped in the way...

"Not yet Jimmy, come on wait for the bell!" yelled the ref.

Jimmy just turned round and walked back to the corner.

Cody looked at Jimmy with a look that showed no worry.

Cody held his pose for a few moments, before walking to the other side of the ring, adjusting the elobww pad on his left arm.

Jimmy quickly swung an underhook which threw Cody to the floor, he got straight back to his feet and locked-up, Cody then...

Cody returned the lock up, quickly bringing him in for a headlock.

Pushing Cody off into the ropes, Jimmy ducked... Cody came at him again and jumped Jimmy's head, came at him for a third time and dropkicked him in the face...

Cody fell to the mat at the dropkick. He quickly rose to one knee, holding his jaw, then rose to a full vertical position.

He quickly faked a punch, giving Jimmy a hard knee to the midsection

Cody went in to give Jimmy a DDT, but Jimmy over-powered him and with raw power flipped Cody over his head the crowd in unison screamed, still unsure of what to make of this character.... Jimmy stood to shake the cob-webs, Cody quickly chop-blocked Jimmy in the knee and came crashing to the floor, Cody got to his feet quickly and...

Cody quickly took advantage, stomping on Jimmy, in the style of his mentor, Randy Orton.

Cody continued stomping, every now and then, dropping an elbow like his father used to.

Jimmy quickly rolled out of the ring after the elbow to re-group himself... Cody then came running fast and leaped over the entire lot of ropes with a flip and nailed Jimmy square on the head and both went crashing to the floor, the crowd went nuts.
Cody was the first one up and rolled back into the ring as the count was on 6...
7... 8... Jimmy got to his feet, still wobbly from the dive and quickly rolled into the ring 9...

"That was close J.R.!" yelled King
"It certainly was King!" replied J.R. in an excited voice.

Cody then went back to stomping on Jimmy, grabbed him by the head and...

and laid a right hand to his forehead.

Cody smirked, with a laugh and look of accomplishment on his face.

Jimmy gave a quick powerful desperation clothesline to Cody which took Jimmy to one knee, he then proceeded towards the turnbuckle and carefully, but quickly climbed it and...

Cody rose to one knee, the wind taken out of him from that monstrous clothesline.

Cody gets to his feet stammering, Jimmy jumps and misses the clothesline as Cody rolls out of the way, jimmy also rolls and comes to his feet... Cody and Jimmy come face to face and have a stare-down, Cody kicks him in the gut and gets Jimmy in the position of the Cross Rhodes, the crowd get louder in anticipation, Jimmy turns his whole body and DDT's Cody in a desparation move... getting to his feet with a flick-up; Jimmy waits , stalking Cody, he slowly gets up and Jimmy grabs Cody by the top of his trousers and shoulder and throws Cody into the ring post... the crowd boo loudly...

"Oh My God!" yelled J.R. "What an underhanded thing to do in this already great contest!" he continued.
"I don't know J.R., this could give him the edge over this match now, he als..." replied King, but was interupted by the pin by Jimmy.

"1... 2... th..." chanted the crowd in unison.

"Ahh no King, it's not to be, Cody kicked out at the last second" informed J.R.
"I know J.R. so close yet so far..." replied King again.

Jimmy got up from his knees and yells at the ref holding his fingers up signaling it was sure to be a three count, the ref shakes his head and yells back "no! ...2!"

Jimmy annoyed picks Cody up from the head and lifts him on to his shoulders horizontally and all of a sudden...

Cody wiggled as much as he could, reversing the suplex position into a landing cross body.

"1...2..."

[Jimmy Zodiak]

"Oh he just kicks out King!" JR said excitedly.
"Man these pins are so close!" King replied.

Cody grabbed Jimmy by the head and smashed his ehad against his knee a few times before pushing Jimmy backwards into a turnbuckle, there he gave Jimmy a few body shots and a slap in the face for good measure, the crowd in unison cried "Awwww" at the impact and sheer disrespectfulness of it, Cody then mounted Jimmy and started to punch Jimmy in the head...

"1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... eig..." the crowd chanted in unison once more, until Jimmy pushed Cody off and tried to get his head together... But Cody immediately got up and finished the remaining punches...
The crowd continued... "8... 9... 10..."

Looking proud of himself Cody again slapped Jimmy in the face twice before dismounting.
Jimmy sunk to be sitting in the corner and...

Cody smirked, beginning to kick Jimmy in the corner.

Repeatedly stomping Jimmy, Cody then got Jimmy to his feet and gave him a few knife-edge chops, each time the crowd all in unison shouting "Aww" as the slaps rung throughout the arena.

Cody whipped Jimmy to the opposite corner as Jimmy bounced off the turnbuckle, Cody came in for a clothesline, but Jimmy ducked at the last second and put Cody up against the turnbuckle and chopped him a few times, again each time the crowd reacting at each chop.

Jimmy brought Cody to the middle of the ring and did a scoop-slam and immediately ran off the ropes and body splashed him and went for the pin... 1... 2... another kick-out by Cody... frustrated, Jimmy got to his feet and was in the face of the ref once again, shouting "it was a 3 count ref, come on count faster!"

"No 2!" the ref responded as the crowd joined in on shouting 2.

Jimmy, still frustrated; picked Cody back up, lifted him on to his right shoulder in the position of his finisher...

Cody didn't know what to do

Jimmy was new, he didn't know his style, he didn't know how to reverse the finisher

Jimmy stuck his arms out in a 'T' shape signaling the end, and in a sit-down motion planted Cody's head into the floor, the crowd gave a cry, "Awwwww!!".

Cody rolled lifelessly on to his back and Jimmy covered, the crowd all in unison... 1!... 2!... 3!...

"Oh my god King, we have a new champion!" yelled JR in complete surprise and excitement.
"I didn't anticipate this JR, this is crazy, this is his first ever match in the WWE too!" replied King, also excited.
"The odds were stacked against Cody; King, I mean he didn't even know he was having a match tonight, on top of that, he had to try and prepare against an opponent he's never even seen compete in the WWE before!" JR went on.
"I know JR, talk about against the odds, but here you have it, your new champ!" King replied.

The crowd, stunned by the outcome, but were clapping all the same.

"And here is your winner and NEW Intercontinental Champion... Jimmy Zodiak!" announced Lillian.

Jimmy's music started to play as he raised the title in glory, then left the ring.

Cody slowly began to come to, shocked at his loss.

He held the back of his head frustrated, panting hard

Lilian just stared, before she tucked her blonde hair behind her right ear. Her eyes lowered with concern seeing Cody on his knees still in pain, and frustrated.
