"I hope so." Matt said as his heart continued breaking while Lucas whimpered.

Soraya parked in front of the veterinary clinic and looked over at her boyfriend and Lucas worriedly. "Come on, let's get him checked over."

Matt opened his door and got out then walked into the clinic with Soraya. A couple minutes later Matt was passing in the waiting room.

"Why are they taking so long?" Matt asked, worried about Lucas.

"They're just checking him over." Soraya soothed. "Better safe than sorry."

Matt stopped pacing when a doctor came out with Lucas in her arms.

"Is Lucas okay?" Matt asked.

the doctor nodded with a smile as she handed Matt his dog.

"He's fine, just shaken up after the fall. No injuries at all, he's a lucky dog."

"Yeah he is." Matt said as he stroked Lucas as he slept.

"I knew he would be, I just couldn't help but be scared." Matt said.

"Well," Soraya rubbed her hand over Lucas's head. "I say we've had enough excitement for one day. How about we head home?"
