Chris sighed and looked up at the ceiling of the elevator. "I know that it will be wrong of me to say this but..." He paused before lowering his head to meet her eyes. "I can't help it..." he told softly.

He was expecting to see that kind of reaction. It was no surprise. But he knew he had to let it out.

"Candice, the last thing that I want to do is to scare you. That's not what I want. It's just...all those moments we mentioned...all those times we spent together...they make me realize how truly happy I was when I'm with you."

Maybe there is a reason for us to be in our separate ways...to test the connection we once had. I feel it. I can feel right now." Then he stroked her hair gently. "Can you feel it?" he whispered.
