Nikki was out in the ranch brushing out she and Charlie's horses. She and Charlie had been together for now three years, and she was in a very happy place in her life. But, she also couldn't help feel guilty, for sneaking around with Paul. Nikki was cheating on Charlie she just loved being around Paul and his daughter Cassie. But Nikki knew if she told Charlie about Paul, he could possibly take it out of portion, and complaining about her spending so much time with him, so she decided to keep it to herself.

Nikki continued to brush her brown horse buttercup, when she heard her beloved boyfriend sneaking up behind her..........

Charlie came up behind Nikki and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Hey beautiful." He murmured, just above her ear.

"Hey you" Nikki smiled

"So here's where you've been hiding." Charlie said. "I should have known."

"Yeah, I've just had so much on my mind lately" Nikki said

"Oh?" Charlie frowned curiously. "Like what? Anything I can help with?"

"Umm" Nikki hesitated "No...I'll be fine, it's not that big of deal"

"Are you sure?" He ran a hand over her raven black hair. "I'm more than happy to help...or even just listen if you need me to."

Nikki stepped to Charlie, she can't help but feel guilty for neglecting him, and feel that she was being very unfair to him "Babe....I'm fine" she lied

"No you're not, you're a terrible liar." Charlie frowned in concern. "Nikki, what's wrong?"

Nikki stared Charlie in the eyes, and imidiately broke into tears

"Baby!" Charlie immediately felt bad. "Don't cry!" He pulled her into his arms. "Whatever it is I did, I'm so sorry. I'm a horrible person, you can hate me for it. Just don't cry."

"No...its not you" Nikk said between sobs "It's far from you...the problem is me" she said

"What do you mean?" He rocked her against his chest, trying offer whatever comfort he could. "Talk to me, Sweetheart. I can't help fix it if I don't know what's wrong?"

"I just can't right now Charlie" Nikki said running away from Charlie leaving him alone in the stables.

Nikki got to her silver Ranchrover and said in the drivers seat crying her eyes out "I gott\a fix this..." she said to herselfbuckling her seatbelt and driving off

Charlie was left alone in the stables, wondering what the hell was going on.

Nikki returned home feeling more guilty then before she left. She entered the house and saw Charlie watching telveision on the couch and smiled "What have you done... he's perfect...and your stupid actions may have caused you to loose hime forever" Nikki said to herself as she tried to prevent more tears....

Charlie looked up at the sound of the door opening and was relieved to see his girlfriend. "Baby, there you are...I was beginning to get worried about you." He crossed the room to her. "You took off so suddenly...I know something's going on...please tell me."

Nikki took a deep breath "Soon...I promise" she said hugging him

"Okay." He relented, stroking her hair. "I just hate seeing you so upset and not being able to do anything to fix it."

"Just sit here with me...that'll do for now" Nikki said with a little smile

Charlie sat back down and pulled Nikki into his arms, just holding her against him.
